Milam County Crime Stoppers program is in its’ 20th year of continuous operation in the county. During this time, this program has been very successful in its efforts to provide local law enforcement agencies in Milam County with information which has led to the arrest of wanted fugitives, the solution of felony offenses, the recovery of stolen property and the seizure of illegal narcotics.
In order to maintain this program, we must have the continued support of the citizens of Milam County. We are a board made up of Milam County citizens from around the county We are a State certified Crime Stoppers program through the Governor’s office and have maintained this certification since 1996. We are also a non-profit organization with 501 (c)(3) status with the IRS.
Milam County Crime Stoppers, Inc. receives no State, city or county funding for operation. Our major fundraiser over the past four years for operating expenses has been the “Mansion of Horrors” Haunted House that has become an expected city and county event providing hours of entertainment for young and old.
Our primary focus however, is paying rewards for information from anonymous callers to help solve crimes for our law enforcement agencies and you, the citizens of the county. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards up to $1,000 for information which solves criminal offenses, recovers stolen property, the seizure of illegal narcotics and the apprehension of wanted persons. In an effort to raise funds for the payment of rewards, we would like to ask you to become a member of the Milam County Crime Stoppers team.
Milam County Crime Stoppers is comprised of diverse, active and dedicated community representatives. Milam County Crime Stoppers provides a method for local law enforcement to receive information on crimes. These efforts increase tips, which in turn increase arrests in our community.
