Burglary
September 26, 2024

During the early morning hours of 09/26/2024, an unknown person or persons burglarized the Cameron VFW Post, located at 1106 West 22nd Street in Cameron, Texas by forcing the door open. Tool marks were found on all doors of the building. Upon making entry, the person or persons attempted to break into several video machines and the ATM. It is believed the building alarm scared the perpetrator from the building, prior to police arrival. While nothing was taken, damage did occur to the doors and video machines.

The 2018 Polaris Ranger was taken between the hours of 7:30pm- 10:00pm on July 7, 2020. Witness stated the ranger was seen traveling on CR 250 Loop. is investigating 3 head of cattle that where shot in the Branchville area off FM 485 and CR 265A, that occurred on the weekend of August 18, 2018. Rangers believes that that the cattle where shot with a .243 caliber rifle. 

Texas and Southern Cattle Raisers, Operation Cow Thief will add up to $1,000.00 to the $1,000.00 reward from the Milam County Crimestoppers leading to the arrest and/or Grand Jury indictment of individuals responsible for this crime.

Late the previous evening victim had parked his work pickup in the yard beside the garage. He left the vehicle unlocked and the keys were in the ignition. When he went out the following morning, approximately 9:45 AM, he noticed the door to the pickup was open. As he went to investigate, he noticed someone had gotten into his pickup and gone through the items in the truck. They had gone through the interior front and back, and the center console. He did not discover any missing items from the interior of the truck. He even noted that he had left his wallet in his truck and nothing was missing from his wallet. In the bed of the truck he had a STIHL 14” chain saw and red gas can. When he checked the bed of the truck he noticed that those two items were missing.

The chain saw had been purchased last year and was valued at approximately $349.99.

Location: Bushes Chicken  Cameron, TX

Crime: Robbery

Cameron Police are still looking for a suspect in connection to an armed robbery in town. 

According to Sgt. Kris Stringer, officers were called about 10:30PM last Thursday to the Bush`s Chicken restaurant in the 800 block of W. 4th in reference to an armed robbery. Investigators were told a black man entered the store just after closing, displayed a gun to the 3 employees, and demanded cash. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount, but police say no one was hurt during the robbery. The suspect is described as being between 18 and 25 years of age, standing 5-foot-8 and weighing about 150 pounds. He was wearing a mask, black clothing, and a hooded sweatshirt. The victim in this case was sleeping at his residence during the hours of 8pm (October 2, 2016) to the next morning around 6am (October 3, 2016). A total valued of $7, 210.00 in tools were taken from a shed. Items take: Hydraulic Jack, Bench Grinder, Pole Saw, light stand, 2 gallon pump sprayer, hand held electric grinder, 2 caterpillar o ring kits, set of proto ease outs, impact air wrenches, Dewalt cordless impact, standard and metric wrenches, welding vice grib tools, 2 inch transfer pump, set AC charging hoses and gauge.

The Milam County Sheriff Office is investigating break in at 13022 FM 2095 in the Gause area. Entrance was made through a small window in the kitchen area. Investigator believes that the suspects were familiar with the layout of the home and have leads. Items taken from residence were as following:

1. Whirlpool Refrigerator , White in color/ Side by Side with ice maker (15 years old) $200.00

2. China Cabinet Antique Curved glass Mahogany approx 7’ x 5’ also has glass and 2 drawers on bottom, $1500.00.

3. Full Size Bed with headboard, Drexel brand bed with Mahogany headboard with curly Q design. Missing all bedding sheets and Gold Comforter. $1300.00

4. Dresser Drawer, Mahogany Drexel Brand Dresser Drawer with 6 Drawers, woop Top with cut glass topper, mirror back. $200.00

Location: Sunny Food Mart 902 N. Travis Ave Cameron, TX

Crime: Aggravated Robbery

Suspect Description: Black male, 5’7”-5’11”, 150-190 lbs, unknown age wearing a Zombie mask, black hoodie, Black sweats, and possibly wearing a Batman Style padded costume shirt underneath hoodie, Nike shoes with white swoosh.

Suspect approaches male worker outside of the store. Suspect made the worker enter the store at gunpoint. Suspect and worker get into a struggle and the worker ended up on the ground. Suspect demands money from a female cashier behind the counter of store. Suspect leaves with unspecified amount of cash. The suspect last saw fleeing westbound towards little river hospital.

The Cameron Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred at the intersection of Gillis and Burleson at about 0700 hours. The victim reported that she observed a dark van driving towards her and the driver stop and got out to speak to her. The victim stated that a black male about 5` 10" with glasses got out of the driver side and yanked her black shoulder strap purse, about medium size away from her. The victim was pushed down to the ground causing her injury. Inside the purse was a Citizen`s ATM card, Beall`s card, and $65.00.

Burglary of a Building

Sometime in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 14th, 2015, an unknown person or persons broke into a downtown building in the 100 block of East Salty Street in Thorndale. The building was being used as a storage facility.

The suspect(s) in this case gained entry into the building by cutting a lock off the front door. Once inside the building, they rummaged through several items in search of what to take. As a result of their criminal activity, the actor(s) in this crime took the following items from the building:

1.     Mighty vac brake bleeder kit 

2.     Craftsman combo wrenches

3.     Milwaukee 1/2inch electric drill in soft case

4.     Brown and Sharp caliper in wooden case

5.     Milwaukee job site radio

6.     Puller set

 

The value of the stolen property items is estimated at over $750.00

Suspect possibility was seen selling the stolen guns in Cameron and some of the guns has been recovered. Looking for a Hispanic male driving a white car with a hatch back opening. If anyone tried to sell the public guys that fit this description call the hotline number.
